A meeting was held between the Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Aysel Yagubova, Executive Director of ECO Clean Energy Center (CECECO).
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the Center’s activities as a regional cooperation platform, its planned projects, and the implementation of joint events.
Issues arising from the Host Country Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the ECO Clean Energy Center (CECECO) were discussed, along with financing of the Center and opportunities for partnerships with international organizations, energy companies, and financial institutions. Plans to establish a centralized repository of existing national legislation, regulatory legal acts, and policy frameworks in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency across ECO member states were also highlighted. It was noted that such initiatives would be beneficial for investors, financial institutions and other stakeholders. It was further emphasized that the Clean Energy Center intends to support the enhancement of knowledge and skills in relevant fields across the countries it covers, promote the exchange of experience, and expand its participation in regional and international forums.
During the conversation, the Ministry of Energy expressed its support for the Center’s activities and recommended organizing joint events in cooperation with AREA.
It should be noted that the Center, as a specialized institution of the ECO, has been operational since September 2025 and also functions as part of the Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centres (GN-SEC) of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
