Syria’s Ministry of Energy is seeking developers for a wind power project with a capacity of between 100 MW and 200 MW, the state-run Public Establishment for Transmission and Distribution of Electricity (PETDE) said.
Interested developers and sponsors have been invited to submit prequalification applications by August 27.
Qualified companies will be asked to submit offers for the design, construction and operation of the wind farms under a build-own-operate (BOO) scheme. The projects will be installed at one or two sites selected from five proposed locations and connected to the national grid.
In addition to wind power, the government aims to expand solar energy and has signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of a 1 GW solar power plant and two more 100-MW solar parks.
