Türkiye has completed its YEKA-2026 (Renewable Energy Resource Areas) tenders for wind and solar power projects with a combined capacity of 2,285 MW, expected to attract approximately $1.9 billion in investment.

Renewables.az reports, citing Türkiye's Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.

The YEKA RES-2026 wind energy tenders, held on November 2, allocated a total capacity of 1,500 MW across seven sites in Sivas, Balıkesir, Manisa and Kütahya. The tenders attracted 29 applications from 12 companies.

The minimum electricity purchase price for the wind projects was set at 3.50 euro cents per kWh, while the total contribution payments reached €75.5 million, including VAT.

The YEKA GES-2026 solar energy tenders, held on November 3, allocated 785 MW across 11 sites in Denizli, Ankara, Konya, Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, Diyarbakır, Mardin, Batman and Elazığ. A total of 44 applications were submitted by 19 companies.

The minimum electricity purchase price for the solar projects was set at 3.25 euro cents per kWh, with total contribution payments amounting to €37.9 million, including VAT.

Under the tender terms, winning companies will be allowed to sell electricity on the free market for 72 months for wind projects and 60 months for solar projects following the signing of their contracts. Both technologies will subsequently benefit from a 20-year electricity purchase period.

According to Türkiye's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, the projects are expected to generate 6.1 billion kWh of clean electricity annually and prevent approximately 1.22 billion cubic metres of natural gas imports each year.
