Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia Energy Ministers discuss wind projects

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Saudi Arabia's Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, in Vienna, Parviz Shahbazov wrote on X, Renewables.az informs.

"In Vienna, we held a productive meeting with Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, we discussed key issues on the bilateral energy agenda, including the meeting of the Joint Technical Commission, cooperation with Saudi companies in the hydrocarbon sector, the commissioning of a 240 MW wind power plant, the implementation of a 3.5 GW offshore wind energy project, and other related initiatives," Shahbazov wrote.

According the Ministry of Energy, during the conversation, the state of implementation of projects within the framework of the green energy partnership was also assessed. The sides exchanged views on the issues related to the commissioning of the 240 MW Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant in the fourth quarter of the year, as well as the implementation of 3.5 GW wind energy and other renewable energy projects in the Caspian Sea with the joint participation of SOCAR Green, ACWA Power and Masdar. The next steps towards the development of these projects were determined.
