Industrial parks in Azerbaijan to be powered by green energy - DECREE

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on additional measures to supply industrial parks with electricity generated from renewable energy sources (green energy), Renewables.az informs.

According to the decree, the Cabinet of Ministers must ensure that the energy balance includes the allocation of electricity to the managing organization of industrial parks in a volume corresponding to the total demand for electricity in industrial parks (including projects where electricity is generated from renewable energy sources at a guaranteed tariff), and resolve other issues arising from the decree.

The managing organization of industrial parks established by the state shall ensure the supply of electricity generated from renewable energy sources in accordance with the agreements to be concluded with residents and non-residents of those parks and taking into account the requirements of the Law on Electric Power.

Azerenergy and Azerishig OJSCs shall ensure the conclusion of the necessary agreements for the implementation of electricity supply by the managing organization of industrial parks using the transmission and (or) distribution network.
