The transport route of the equipment of the Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant has been determined as a global record.

According to the turbine supplier Envision, the 9,200 km transport route from China to the Caspian Sea and Azerbaijan has set a global record for the transportation of onshore wind energy equipment.

The equipment was delivered to Azerbaijan via two routes. Along the first route, wind turbine components loaded onto trains in China were transported via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, known as the Middle Corridor. The cargo brought to the Caspian Sea by land was delivered to the Baku Shipyard by ferry vessels.

The second route, which mainly consists of sea transport, started from China, passed through multiple seas and straits, reached the city of Trabzon on Turkey’s Black Sea coast, and entered Azerbaijan through the territories of Turkey and Georgia.

It should be noted that on January 8, the official opening ceremony of the 240 MW Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant, built by Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power company, was held at the Gulustan Palace in Baku.
