SOCAR Green LLC, a subsidiary of the Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR), wants to turn Azerbaijan into an expertise center in the green energy field, said Elchin Targuliyev, the LLC’s expert on solar and wind energy, Renewables.az informs via Report.
He made the remark during the Sustainability in the Energy Industry panel discussion organized within the framework of the 30th Anniversary International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and the 13th Caspian International Energy and Green Energy International Exhibition held in Baku.
According to him, SOCAR Green is growing rapidly: "We are developing our strategy together with the national strategy, implementing not only renewable energy projects but also biofuels. We are even diversifying our energy production, considering directions such as bioenergy and green hydrogen. Besides this, we are paying attention to all different green technologies that can help us achieve primarily our own goals as well as national goals."
Targuliyev noted that the company is working with various technology owners, different equipment manufacturers, and training organizations to transform Azerbaijan into a national expertise center in the green energy field.
