On December 27, 2024, Uzbekistan’s Cabinet of Ministers approved Resolution No. 894, aimed at promoting the use of renewable energy sources (RES) and improving tariff reforms. The document introduces amendments to five key legislative acts regulating this sector.
One of the main initiatives focuses on strengthening state support for entrepreneurs engaged in manufacturing RES equipment. Additionally, plans include increasing the volume of "green" loans issued by commercial banks and compensating part of the interest rates on such loans, making them more accessible to the population.
Moreover, the restriction on the maximum loan interest rate for receiving compensation has been removed, enhancing the accessibility of financing.
The document was published in the National Database of Legislation and came into force on December 30, 2024.
