Parviz Shahbazov visits Universal Energy's solar plant as it readies for grid connection

A delegation led by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, visited the 100 MW solar power plant (SPP) being developed and constructed by Universal Energy.

According to Renewables.az, Universal Energy announced this in a statement.

During the visit to the Gobustan district, where the project is located, the project manager of Universal Energy briefed the minister and the delegation on the ongoing works at the facility. It was noted that the project is currently fully ready for connection to the power grid, while construction activities continue in line with the approved schedule.

Minister Parviz Shahbazov highly appreciated the progress achieved in the project, stating that the commissioning of the plant will make a significant contribution to optimizing Azerbaijan’s energy balance and increasing renewable energy generation.

The minister also emphasized that the Government of Azerbaijan will continue to support the successful completion of the project. He further invited Universal Energy to invest in future renewable energy projects in the country and to expand cooperation.

The project was awarded to Universal Energy through Azerbaijan's first renewable energy auction.
